Supply Chain Manager, Supercharger Construction
What To Expect
Tesla is looking for a skilled construction Supply Chain Manager professional to join our team based in Austin, TX. This individual will support Supercharger Construction deployment across North America. The Supply Chain Manager will be accountable for successful execution of the RFx process, contractor selection, contract execution, and contract management. This individual will need to be able to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external contract partners. Tesla is a fast‑moving, dynamic environment where flexibility and adaptability are key attributes needed for success. The successful candidate will be a self‑starter; eager to learn about Tesla’s Procurement organization.
What You'll Do
Pre-qualify suppliers by assessing their commercial and technical capabilities
Identify new potential suppliers and negotiate MSA level agreements
Efficient execution of RFx process to ensure all project scopes are contracted according to the required project schedule
Negotiate final contract awards and make recommendations to stakeholders
Effectively operate with ambiguous scope and schedule requirements. Ability to make decisions based on incomplete information
Maintain day-to-day supplier relationships; act as the first point of contact for contractual escalations
Effective execution of all responsibilities while operating under tight timelines with high stakes
What You'll Bring
Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Construction Management or similar, or equivalent experience
At least 3 years of experience in the heavy construction industry
The ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting a high‑volume purchasing operation
Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills. Excellent analytical and judgment skills. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Bluebeam and/or Acrobat
Understanding of basic contract law and construction contract standards
Self‑starter with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem‑solve
Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects with various stakeholders
