The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing and/or specifying electrical and electro‑mechanical parts and assemblies used within renewable energy, microgrid, EV charging, crypto mining, and data center markets. The role supports the Design Engineering team in the design and qualification of electrical components, sub‑systems, multi‑level assemblies, and system architecture of various products used within the energy industry. You will collaborate with other disciplines to understand customer and market requirements, design products to be easy to manufacture and assemble, support products through the Product Development Process, and support service and aftermarket needs. This position will work within the Design Engineering team and coordinate work with other individuals to meet project requirements, timelines, and goals. The ability to understand high‑level requirements and create detail‑level designs will be key. Minimum Requirements Education: Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Experience: Internship or 6 months of work experience. 2 years of product design experience preferred. Experience in electrical components or equipment within the energy industry preferred. Working knowledge of 2D/3D CAD design software (Inventor, CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo) Basic knowledge of electrical circuits and PLC controllers Experience in Bill of Material creation and Change Notice processes Experience in the design and development of electrical components preferred PLC programming experience preferred Travel: 10-25% Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday‑Friday. Works a sufficient schedule to meet the expectations of the role. Key Responsibilities Reviews technical drawings and electrical specifications to ensure proper application of products within electrical and electro‑mechanical assemblies. Supports the design of electrical components and sub‑systems for power/low voltage products including component selection, wire harness creation, assembly design and installation. Performs detailed design calculations to ensure design compliance with project requirements. Studies and understands related government and industry standards that govern the products being developed. Produces relevant documentation needed to meet project goals, including electrical schematics, component prints, assemblies, and compliance documents. Interacts with the Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Industrial Engineering staff on a regular basis. Participates and presents technical information during design meetings or reviews. Supports the creation of 2D prints and 3D models for component parts. Supports the creation of complex 3D layouts of top‑level and sub‑level assemblies. Helps develop product Bill of Material structures to allow for modularity and configurability of products. Prepares Bills of Materials and Change Notices to release components and assemblies. Supports costing activities to ensure pricing targets are achieved at the project level. Supports the creation of technical manuals for operation and maintenance of related products. Self‑checks own work to ensure accuracy to established drawing and design specifications and standards. Provides technical assistance for prototype and pilot builds along with production support as needed. Works with suppliers to integrate various components into higher level system designs. Supports service, aftermarket, and installation teams as needed. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
