We are seeking an experienced
Survey Technician / Crew Chief
to join a growing, multi-disciplinary engineering and surveying team in the Long Island area. This role offers hands-on experience across a variety of surveying projects and exposure to cutting-edge survey technology. Key Responsibilities
Conduct field surveys using robotic total stations, GNSS receivers, levels, and 3D laser scanners. Process and adjust survey data; prepare survey drawings using Carlson Software and AutoCAD. Perform Boundary, Topographic, ALTA/NSPS, As-Built, ROW, and Flood Elevation Certificate surveys. Review and verify work for accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Maintain and organize field equipment, vehicles, and supplies; keep detailed daily survey logs. Collaborate with engineers, planners, and survey team members to ensure smooth project execution. Required Qualifications
4+ years of professional land surveying experience (field and office). Skilled in operating total stations, data collectors, GNSS receivers, digital/automatic levels. Proficient in Carlson Software and AutoCAD. Strong mathematical and analytical skills for calculations, stakeouts, and slope measurements. Familiarity with surveying standards (or willingness to learn). Ability to work in all weather conditions, both in the field and office. High School Diploma or equivalent; valid’s.
