Our client, is gearing up for their Workday HCM implementation and is in need of a Sr. Workday Benefits Analyst.
They are seeking an experienced Sr. Workday Benefits Analyst who has a strong background in Workday Benefits, and also Workday Compensation. They will play a key role in supporting the global Human Resources function by managing configuration, optimization, and integration of Workday Benefits and Compensation modules. This role will require direct experience migrating from legacy systems, especially within multinational, compliance‑driven environments. You will need to have strong expertise in Workday Benefits configuration, project delivery and post go‑live support. This is a hands‑on, functional role that collaborates closely with HR, Total Rewards, and Technology teams to ensure the successful delivery and enhancement of Workday functionality — with a primary focus on Benefits strategy, compliance, and employee experience. Experience with Benefits and Compensation is required.
The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in Workday Benefits configuration, BPs, requirements gathering, administration, testing, and reporting, as well as a strong understanding of Workday Compensation functionality.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the Workday Benefits SME, responsible for configuration, testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of Benefits‑related functionality.
Manage benefits eligibility rules, plans, rates, events, and vendor file integrations.
Lead and support system updates, enhancements, and release management specific to Benefits.
Collaborate with HR, Payroll, and Total Rewards teams to ensure accurate administration of benefit deductions, enrollments, and data integrity.
Assist with Workday Compensation configuration, including merit, bonus, and stock processes.
Participate in cross‑functional projects involving Compensation and Benefits, ensuring data alignment and consistent employee experiences across modules.
Troubleshoot system issues, test new functionality, and recommend process improvements.
Develop and maintain documentation, reports, and dashboards to support compliance, auditing, and decision‑making.
Stay current with Workday releases, benefits compliance changes, and industry best practices to drive optimization.
Requirements
Sr. Workday Benefits Analyst
Extensive Workday Benefits experience
Strong Workday Compensation experience, including merit, bonus, and stock plan processes.
Experience with Open Enrollment setup, testing, and execution in Workday.
Strong hands‑on functional experience with configuration, BPs, and requirements gathering, testing, and reporting
Expertise in managing benefit plan configuration, eligibility rules, enrollment events, rates, and vendor integrations.
Understanding of integration touchpoints between Benefits, Compensation, Payroll, and Core HCM.
Experience troubleshooting EIBs, data loads, and benefit interface errors.
Strong analytical skills for identifying data inconsistencies, configuration issues, and process inefficiencies.
Proficiency in Excel or similar tools for reconciliation and data validation.
Familiarity with Workday release management, regression testing, and change control processes.
SME experience on medium to large scale HRIS projects.
Proven experience leading or supporting a migration from a legacy system to Workday.
Deep understanding of benefits compliance regulations (ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, 401(k), etc.).
Experience managing vendor files and data exchanges with third‑party benefits providers.
Ability to ensure benefits plans are accurately aligned with company policy and legal requirements.
Solid understanding of Workday reporting tools (Advanced Reports, Calculated Fields, Dashboards).
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills to navigate complex technical and process challenges.
Self‑starter who thrives in an ever‑changing, fast‑paced business environment.
Strong communication skill, problem solving and ability to work with stakeholders
Education Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 5‑8 years of relevant work experience
8–10 years of hands‑on Workday HCM experience, specializing in Benefits and Compensation
7+ years in Workday consulting or SME roles on mid-to-large scale HRIS projects.
Excellent skills in communication, project management, and issue resolution.
