Base pay range $70.00/hr - $85.00/hr

Position Summary The Electrical Design Engineer (I&C Digital Design) provides independent engineering services in support of design modifications, operations, and independent assessments for commercial nuclear power plants. The role involves performing complex engineering analyses and detailed designs for digital instrumentation and control systems, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, review, and approve digital I&C system designs, drawings, specifications, and calculations for nuclear plant systems and modifications.

Provide technical expertise in the design, modification, and implementation of electrical and I&C systems, including control logic, protection schemes, and system integration.

Conduct engineering analyses to support plant operations, system reliability, and equipment performance.

Ensure all design activities conform to applicable NRC regulations, IEEE, ANSI, and EPRI standards, as well as internal procedures and QA requirements.

Support design change packages, configuration management, and field implementation support.

Perform and document independent technical reviews, audits, and assessments to verify compliance with regulatory and engineering requirements.

Support the development and mentoring of junior engineering staff, as required.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university, and seven (7) years of engineering experience; OR

High school diploma and a Professional Engineer (PE) license obtained by accredited examination, plus eight (8) years of engineering experience.

Demonstrated experience in commercial nuclear power plant I&C digital design, including familiarity with digital control systems, safety‑related applications, and plant modification processes.

Strong understanding of engineering methods, analytical techniques, industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements applicable to nuclear design and operations.

Prior experience with design change packages (DCPs), setpoint methodology, and cyber security considerations for digital systems in nuclear applications.

Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
