Position Overview The

Philanthropy Officer

plays a central role in strengthening AHI’s fundraising and relationship-building capacity. This position is ideal for a values-driven professional who thrives at connecting generosity with impact through storytelling, authentic engagement, and strategic partnerships.

Reporting to the Development Director, the Philanthropy Officer will steward a portfolio of 150 individual, corporate, and foundation donors, cultivating relationships that collectively represent up to $500,000 in annual philanthropic support. The role centers on meaningful engagement, intentional stewardship, and coordinated campaigns that advance AHI’s mission.

Donor Cultivation & Stewardship

Manage and grow a portfolio of 150 individual, corporate, and foundation donors.

Develop and implement personalized cultivation and stewardship strategies to strengthen donor engagement and retention.

Prepare compelling proposals, donor appeals, and impact reports that highlight AHI’s mission and community outcomes.

Conduct regular donor meetings and represent AHI at events, briefings, and partner gatherings.

Maintain accurate and timely donor records in AHI’s CRM system to support strategic moves management.

Steward a donor portfolio that collectively represents up to $500,000 in annual philanthropic support.

Support donor campaigns and strategies that encourage sustained and increased giving.

Re‑engage lapsed donors and strengthen relationships with existing supporters.

Support planning and execution of AHI’s annual fundraising events, campaigns, and appeals.

Campaigns & Communications

Partner with the Development Director to execute AHI’s annual fundraising and communications plan.

Collaborate with the Program team to gather client stories, visuals, and data for donor materials.

Contribute to donor newsletters, stewardship letters, and campaign messaging that connect stories to impact.

Grant & Institutional Giving Support

Assist in researching, preparing, and submitting proposals and reports for foundations and corporate funders.

Track proposal deadlines, deliverables, and reporting requirements to ensure compliance and alignment with funder expectations.

Organizational Representation

Serve as an ambassador for AHI, sharing its mission and impact with authenticity and cultural awareness.

Build trust and foster meaningful relationships across diverse communities and stakeholders.

Participate in donor visits, events, and meetings to elevate AHI’s visibility and partnerships.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or a related field preferred.

3–5 years of relevant experience in fundraising, donor relations, communications, or nonprofit development.

Proven track record of managing a donor portfolio and cultivating relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation funders.

Strong storytelling, proposal writing, and interpersonal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with donors, partners, volunteers, and community members.

Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and donor records.

Familiarity with donor databases or CRM systems such as Bloomerang, Salesforce, or Raiser's Edge.

A deep commitment to AHI’s mission of fostering equitable access to health and social services.

Knowledge of immigrant and refugee communities, with a culturally responsive and trauma-informed approach.

Annual Salary: $70,000–$78,000 commensurate with experience.
