Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a
Maintenance Engineer
in our pharmaceutical client in Elkhorn, NE. This 12‑month contract initially offers the potential for extensions.
Pay
$36.00 – $41.00 per hour
(W2 contract, no PTO or benefits; ACA‑compliant supplemental package available).
Schedule
Must be able to work weekends and extended shifts (10‑ or 12‑hour) as required by business needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Respond and assist in the recovery and repair of utilities and production equipment.
Troubleshoot failed electrical, mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic components using basic and advanced troubleshooting techniques; knowledge of test equipment up to predictive maintenance tools.
Complete preventative maintenance actions per OEM and engineering specifications, including minor and major overhauls, calibrations, detailed inspections, cleaning, and lubricating.
Perform corrective repair actions supporting safety, quality, and equipment reliability.
Execute tolerance‑specific fabrication tasks using shop equipment such as mills, lathes, drill presses, and welding methods.
Use computerized maintenance management software (SAP) to review work, generate requirements, and document completion.
Support training of autonomous maintenance work groups in equipment operation, inspection, and routine maintenance.
Participate in problem‑solving initiatives for continuous improvement; knowledge of TPM or Lean desirable.
Work collaboratively in a team environment requiring honest communication, a positive attitude, engagement, and personal accountability.
Education Minimum Requirement
High School Diploma with a minimum of 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, or
Associate's degree with a minimum of 4 years experience, or
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years experience.
Nice to have certifications
OSHA 10, OSHA 30, NFPA 70E certification
ARCH Flash training
3rd Grade Boiler certification
Required Skills
Track record of safe work with demonstrated safety leadership.
Troubleshoot AC & DC drive systems, PLC and electrical controls.
Knowledge of motor controls, programmable logic, and I/O.
Computer skills (MS Office). Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook.
Knowledge of SAP systems relevant to maintenance.
Read and interpret blueprints.
TPM/Lean knowledge and application.
Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of external device monitoring and safety relays.
Electrical standards (NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NEC).
Hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical drive systems.
Industrial wiring and 480 V power distribution.
Advanced electrical circuits, PLC hardwired logic.
Use of test equipment (amp meter, megger, etc.).
Knowledge of motors, drives, sensors.
Interpret machine, electrical, facility drawings.
Familiar with CMMS and control systems.
Self‑management; can work unsupervised, reprioritize.
Continuous improvement mindset.
Communication skills with operators, technicians, resources.
Data analysis and decision recommendation.
Integration across operations to support facility objectives.
Understanding of automated equipment and components.
Proficiency in industrial electrical control systems and maintenance.
Proper use of mechanical and electrical tools; diagnostic instruments.
Operational principles and function of electrical controls and power components.
Ability to troubleshoot industrial circuits.
Knowledge of Arch Flash, LOTO, PTWs.
