What you’ll do

Lead a team of highly skilled software engineers and drive development of digital solutions for customers and partners, including order management, customer management, marketing, production, inventory & planning optimization, loyalty, merchandise, servicing & repairs, mobile app, vehicle connectivity, and more.

Work with engineering managers, senior engineers, and cross‑functional partners to design the technical foundations of the product.

Build key systems hands‑on while ensuring successful delivery of complex, large‑scale technical initiatives, and mentor other engineers.

Work with engineers & technical leaders across the company to ship interoperable products and systems on strong foundations that manage customer interactions inside and outside of the vehicle.

Partner with product and design to produce plans that support system and product requirements, making trade‑offs that balance business priorities, user experience, and sustainable technology.

Assess and recommend key tools and technology decisions, influencing build‑buy‑partner choices for current and future enterprise needs.

Develop practices that support scalable, functional, and reliable software products and their integrations.

Lead the team to execute short‑ and long‑term roadmaps, designing, coding, deploying, and operating technical architecture.

Identify, scope, and lead large technical projects, laying groundwork for early‑stage products and improving reliability of existing systems.

Champion engineering excellence by establishing and improving metrics, processes, tooling, and standards.

Assist in calibrating and developing the software engineering team.

Recruit and manage a high‑performing team, setting a high bar for quality development.

Location & Travel Expectations

Based in Fremont, CA or remotely within the United States; not eligible for remote work in New York City.

Requires 1 day per week in‑office attendance with regular on‑site meetings.

Travel may be required for company events.

What you’ll bring

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related field.

8+ years of software engineering experience, including scaling products, technical leadership, and experience with e‑commerce, payments, or digital products.

Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, and complex backend systems.

Excellent coding skills in Go, Java, Kotlin, Swift, plus CI/CD pipelines for web and mobile.

Knowledge of system vulnerabilities and prevention strategies.

Experience in start‑up settings from 0‑to‑1 product launch to customized applications.

Technical lead experience on large projects (≥6 months) defining roadmaps across teams.

Ability to internalize best ideas and set a vision others can rally behind.

Experience integrating with third‑party platforms and partnering with external providers.

3+ years of leading high‑performing engineering teams; evidence of guiding and motivating successful projects.

Pay Transparency This is a full‑time, exempt position eligible for a base salary and an annual performance bonus program. Final salary will be based on skills and experience. The bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range: $165,000 – $200,000.

Initial California base salary range: $181,500 – $220,000.

Internal leveling code: IC8.
