Role Description We are a dynamic, fast‑paced organization with a strong focus on collaboration and innovation. Our Boston office serves as a vital hub for our U.S. operations, and we are seeking a Part‑Time IT Consultant to provide hands‑on technical support and ensure seamless operation of all office technology. This role is ideal for an experienced, professional, and proactive IT specialist seeking a flexible, part‑time opportunity.
Responsibilities
Provide first‑level technical support to office employees via phone, email, and in‑person.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly and efficiently.
Set up, configure, and maintain computer systems, printers, electronic display monitors, and other office electronic equipment.
Support smartphone setup, configuration, and troubleshooting (iOS and Android), including installation and management of business‑related applications.
Install, configure, and update all required business software, including Adobe Acrobat, Docusign, and the Microsoft 365 Suite.
Manage user accounts, access permissions, and security configurations.
Maintain accurate inventory and documentation of IT assets.
Provide training and guidance to employees on IT tools and best practices.
Collaborate with the IT team to enhance IT policies, procedures, and system performance.
Ensure professional and respectful communication when assisting team members.
Follow instructions and company protocols carefully to maintain operational consistency and security compliance.
Perform other IT administrative or technical tasks as needed.
Requirements
Proven experience in an
IT support or helpdesk role.
Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems . Experience in setting up new employee laptops and configuring required security and endpoint management software (e.g. Microsoft Intune).
Familiarity with common office software and applications.
Experience in managing Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace environments
as an IT administrator
(e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
Familiarity with common business software applications (Adobe, Docusign, Microsoft Office, etc.).
Experience setting up and maintaining various electronic devices, including monitors, smartphones, electronic access to office and audiovisual systems.
Basic understanding of networking principles and troubleshooting.
Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Availability to provide
onsite support twice per week
, with
remotely support for the rest of the week . Have flexibility to accommodate urgent issues.
Ability to respond quickly and efficiently to user requests, ensuring same‑day resolution of issues and requirements whenever possible.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Professional).
Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
Previous experience in a biotech, research, or startup environment.
