Overview The Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center of Denver is seeking a full-time Assistant Director of Programming for its camps team, supporting year‑round programming for children in Kindergarten through 8th grade. The role collaborates with Camp Shai and the School’s Out! programs to create, facilitate, and supervise engaging, age‑appropriate experiences.

Responsibilities

Design specialized curriculum and keep programs fresh across summer and school‑year offerings.

Support all logistical operations for camp and School’s Out! programs.

Train seasonal staff on program operations, policies, and procedures.

Observe and provide technical assistance to improve program quality.

Supervise seasonal staff and conduct routine evaluations.

Design and oversee all aspects of programming for K‑8 youth, including Day Camp, Family Events, and extended care services.

Collaborate with inclusion team to modify programs for campers with special needs.

Implement crisis intervention and ongoing staff supervision during programs.

Communicate with families regarding camper behavior and program updates.

Manage program supplies budget and purchase necessary materials.

Assist with ACA and licensing accreditation, documentation, and safety compliance.

Support recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of seasonal staff.

Collaborate with the Camp Director on recruitment and marketing strategies.

Maintain CRM system (e.g., CampMinder) for enrollment and camper needs tracking.

Coordinate logistics of daily camp schedules, pool operations, and transportation.

Ensure documentation meets Colorado State childcare licensing and ACA requirements.

Drive company vehicles with and without children, as necessary for programming.

Physical Demands and Working Environment

Operative auditory and visual functioning required.

Walk up to two miles daily, use stairs and uneven terrain.

Basic Qualifications

At least 3 years of verifiable experience working with children.

Valid First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain before season).

Background screening, professional references, and compliance with CDHS law.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in school or camp settings.

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Curriculum Development, or related field.

Previous leadership or supervision experience.
