Role Summary We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Post-Fixture Operator / Manager in our incredible New York office. You will be required to liaise with brokers, counterparties, owners, and charters throughout the voyage.
What you’ll be doing
Undertake day‑to‑day responsibility of all vessel operational matters.
Liaise with brokers / counterparties / owners / charterers with regard to operational matters on ships and / or cargo.
Check recaps / charter parties.
Input and update relevant data on voyage sheets.
Ensure any declarations are noted and diarised.
Communicate declarations with clients prior to expiration.
Chase for and check load / discharge / proceeding orders.
Follow up on and log load port documentation.
Ensuring LOI’s are issued timely.
Check freight / hire invoices, ensuring they are issued on time, and chase for payment respectively.
Advise clients if any claims time bar clause applicable per charter party.
Liaise with accounts team with regard to issuance of commissions invoice.
Analyse and provide solutions to any issues faced by clients/ships/cargoes.
Provide assistance to our chartering team.
Additional / ad‑hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

Other requirements
Previous operator experience
Experience within dry cargo operations, preferable
Knowledge of shipping practices
Ability to understand recaps and charter parties, clauses for voyage and time‑charter vessels
Strong communicator, both verbal and written, and able to build strong relationships
Strong analytical skills, with a good record of shipment breakdown
Highly organised with excellent time management skills
Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
Flexible and reliable, with ability to work well under pressure
Good knowledge in MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
