Level 1
Information Systems Specialist
to join their team onsite in Berkeley, CA and provide end‑user support. This role will provide hands‑on support for computers, mobile devices, printers, and basic network systems. The specialist will help install, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware and software, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations for staff.
Duties And Responsibilities
Set up and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile phones, and printers
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues for end users (in person or remotely)
Validate device warranties with manufacturers
Document support activities and resolutions in the IT Service Management (ITSM) system
Assist with user account setup and management (e.g., shared drives, mailboxes)
Install and update software applications
Coordinate with vendors or third‑party support when needed
Create and update internal knowledge base articles
Schedule and support on‑site technical services
Skills And Qualifications
Basic understanding of PC hardware and operating systems
Familiarity with network basics (cabling, architecture, connectivity)
Experience with standard office software (Word, Excel, databases, web browsers)
Knowledge of multifunction printers and basic networking
Exposure to tools like Citrix, FortiToken, and Microsoft Intune (for managing devices)
Ability to follow department policies and procedures
Strong customer service and communication skills
Organized and detail‑oriented
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Prior experience in a unionized or government setting is a plus
Successful working in a collaborative, team setting
Wage Range The rate for this position is between
$18.00 - $26.00 per hour . Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
