What you’ll do: Design Leadership & Strategy

Define and drive the UX vision for associate‑facing and driver tools, aligning with Walmart’s enterprise priorities.

Identify experience gaps and translate business needs into actionable design strategies.

Establish and advocate for best practices in interaction design, usability, and accessibility across platforms.

Team Development & Coaching

Build, mentor, and inspire a high‑performing design team, providing career growth opportunities through coaching, feedback, and stretch assignments.

Foster a culture of belonging, creativity, and continuous learning.

Cross‑Functional Influence

Partner with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Business stakeholders to shape product direction, ensuring associate needs are at the center of decisions.

Build strong relationships across functions and geographies, influencing without authority to drive alignment and execution.

Operational Excellence

Oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously, ensuring projects are delivered on time, at quality, and with measurable impact.

Anticipate risks and develop contingency plans, while ensuring adaptability in execution.

Communication & Advocacy

Represent design strategy at senior leadership forums with clarity, confidence, and data‑driven storytelling.

Advocate for associates’ needs by bringing user insights and empathy into decision‑making.

What you’ll bring:

Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities with a systems‑thinking approach.

Exceptional communication and storytelling skills for executive and cross‑functional audiences.

Deep expertise in user research, interaction design, and design operations.

Ability to thrive in ambiguity, influence without authority, and drive consensus across XFN partners.

Strong leadership presence with the ability to coach, mentor, and inspire design teams.

Strategic mindset with experience identifying gaps, shaping roadmaps, and delivering measurable impact.

10‑12+ years of professional experience in UX, Product Design, or related fields.

5+ years of experience managing and scaling design teams, preferably in enterprise or logistics/retail tools.

Proven track record of delivering strategic design initiatives with measurable business impact.

Preferred:

Experience in retail, supply chain, or large‑scale enterprise software.

Familiarity with accessibility standards, inclusive design practices and localization.

Spanish language proficiency is a plus.

This role is onsite 5‑days a week.

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in UI/UX design, graphic design, visual communication, product design, computer science, information technology, or related area and 5 years’ experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area.

Option 2: 7 years’ experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area.

2 years’ supervisory experience.

Design certification (e.g., IDEOU - Foundations in Design Thinking Certificate).

Driving product development in a user experience area.

Master’s degree in UI/UX Design, Interactive and Visual Design, Product Design, or related area.

Related industry experience (e.g., retail, supply chain, eCommerce, healthcare).

UI/UX, Interactive and Visual Design, Electronics Art, Multimedia Design, or related area experience.

Experience creating inclusive digital experiences and knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards.

Masters: Architecture, Artificial Intelligence, Business, Cognitive Science, Computer Science.
