Overview We’re seeking an experienced and hands‑on
Plant Controller
to join our growing finance and operations team in Novi, MI. This newly defined role serves as the on‑site financial leader, partnering closely with operations, purchasing, and senior leadership to strengthen financial governance, streamline reporting, and enhance cost visibility. The Plant Controller will own all plant‑level accounting, cost analysis, and reporting functions while acting as a key business partner driving profitability and operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
Oversee all site accounting and financial processes including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger management, and cash flow activities.
Lead monthly closing activities, ensuring financial statements are accurate, timely, and compliant with GAAP.
Manage and continuously improve cost accounting systems to track and analyze manufacturing performance, cost drivers, and margin trends.
Partner with plant and corporate leadership to deliver actionable financial insights, identify savings opportunities, and support data‑driven decisions.
Maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
Coordinate physical inventory counts, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
Support external audits and collaborate with corporate finance on reporting requirements.
Develop KPIs and dashboards to help operations teams monitor performance and achieve objectives.
Champion process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy across finance and production operations.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting, Finance, or a related field .
5+ years of progressive experience
in manufacturing finance, plant controllership, or cost accounting.
Solid understanding of
job‑shop manufacturing environments , including BOM, WIP, and production costing.
Strong command of
GAAP accounting principles , cost analysis, and variance reporting.
Advanced
Excel skills
and familiarity with ERP systems (experience with Acumatica preferred).
Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills with the ability to influence non‑financial leaders.
Highly organized and adaptable, with a continuous improvement mindset and commitment to professional growth.
