Jr./Mid-Level Networking Systems Administrator – Linux Belay Technologies

is seeking a Jr./Mid‑level System Administrator to join our intel team. The selected individual will be responsible for monitoring infrastructure systems, applications, and processes, and for ensuring that all issues are identified, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner. She/he will provide support for all infrastructure systems and will respond to hardware and software incidents, working with senior system administrators and often remotely from other locations.

Responsibilities

Quickly respond to IT Help Desk calls and emails in a professional manner; ensure issues are resolved, escalated to the appropriate teams, and followed up with users.

Identify, troubleshoot, and correct hardware and software issues including network connectivity.

Utilize enterprise monitoring solutions to identify alarms triggered across environments.

Proactively contact customers when infrastructure processes are significantly delayed or may impact their ability to execute business functions on time.

Execute the process for managing information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVAs) and system security scanning for equipment suites, following System Security Plans to rapidly and accurately remediate IAVAs.

Initiate IAVA responses and system security scans, complete remediation, and extend IAVA patches and security updates on various IT and network systems.

Provide technical assistance to companion work groups for overlapping projects such as implementing IT enhancements and optimizing systems.

Maintain good inter‑departmental relations, communicate with users, and publish status of system outages.

Participate in the creation and ongoing maintenance of documentation to ensure clear, concise, and accurate information is readily available for incident resolution.

Qualifications

Must have a FS poly from the MD customer, last poly within the past six (6) years; no CCAs.

At least 5 years of direct, hands‑on experience providing assistance to users in an IT customer service capacity.

At least 5 years of experience working on an IT/software program that utilizes complex equipment/systems (e.g., network switches, routers, LANs, cabling, Windows/Linux operating systems, VMware).

Experience installing, updating, and upgrading Linux Operating Systems.

Experience with utilities for managing Linux OS disk file systems.

Experience analyzing and implementing Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) requirements in Linux OS.

Experience with utilities for creating and configuring network connections in Linux OS.

Experience implementing Windows Active Directory User Authentication in Linux OS.

Proficiency in reading and modifying User/Group permissions and troubleshooting errors within Linux OS.

Experience with IT system optimization, monitoring, and technical set‑up and troubleshooting.

Experience with data center design and configuration (e.g., rack and stack, power, placement).

Experience gathering data for and documenting technical processes.

Experience documenting IT issues and providing detailed and comprehensive status reports and follow‑ups.

Experience analyzing and addressing IAVAs/CVEs, including response, remediation, system security scans, and patching.

Commitment to adopting and adhering to best practices, compliance with maintenance windows and change control procedures.

Strong analytical abilities; meticulous and careful work.

Independent thinker capable of working solo or in a team.

Ready to respond to emergency system administration and maintenance problems on a limited as‑needed on‑call basis.

Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time to local program locations (not overnight). Additional travel to CONUS and OCONUS may also be required (overnight).

Desired Skills

BS degree in a technical field and at least 8 years of relevant experience.

Experience with security standards, software architectures, and network security technologies (Multiple Domain, PKI, SSP, Vulnerability Assessment).

Experience with Enterprise Domain Services.

Experience building and deploying virtual machines within on‑premises data centers.

Experience with scripting and/or automation tools.

Experience reading, analyzing, and addressing security vulnerabilities from automated scanning tools.

Experience supporting a large, complex software configuration management and development program.

Experience working in an Agile Development Environment or on an Agile team.

Salary Range:

$114,000 to $164,000
