Structural Bridge Engineer
in our Baltimore, MD office. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of bridge design experience, professional engineer licensure, and a comprehensive understanding of AASHTO LRFD and local DOT specifications.
Responsibilities
Perform complex structural planning, analysis, and design for transportation projects.
Conduct detailed structural calculations for bridges, culverts, and retaining walls.
Execute NBIS level inspections and write inspection reports.
Prepare final submittal documents for design and rehabilitation projects.
Assist the Manager with business development and Maryland project growth.
Work in a hybrid environment with occasional field work and travel.
Job Requirements
Minimum 5 years of structural engineering experience on MD transportation projects (MDOT, MdTA, MTA, local MD agencies).
B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure; Maryland license preferred.
Experience in all aspects of bridge design projects.
Proficient with MicroStation CAD, FEM software (STAAD, CSI), and bridge design/analysis tools (Merlin‑Dash, RCPIER, CONSPAN).
Experience with OpenRoads and OpenBridge is beneficial.
In-depth knowledge of AASHTO LRFD, DOT/Agency design standards and specifications.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
NBIS Inspection Team Leader qualification and bridge inspection experience (preferred). NHI Fracture Critical Inspection Training is a plus.
