Job Summary We are looking for a passionate Principal Business Intelligence Engineer to join us in building the next generation data analytics platform, creating technical specification documents, and providing support for data solutions across the enterprise.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with business users, technology teams, and executives to understand their data needs to create innovative solutions.
Optimize BI dashboard quality, consistency, usability, and reliability.
Establish BI best practices.
Design semantic data layer for analytics and AI.
Work with data science, data engineering, and software engineering teams to automate data analysis and visualization, advise on data transformation, and explore ways to design and develop data infrastructure.
Requirements
5+ years of experience with Tableau, including best practices and performance tuning.
Strong experience with SQL and Python.
Strong experience building semantic layers using tools such as Cube.dev, AtScale, dbt, and Dremio.
Experience with data catalog tools such as Informatica.
Thinking through long-term impacts of key design decisions and handling failure scenarios.
Ability to provide mentoring to a team of data analysts.
Ability to meet strict deadlines, work on multiple tasks, and work well under pressure.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a similarly relevant field (highly preferable).
Compensation The salary range for this position is $140-150K. Specific offers will consider a candidate’s education, experience and skills, location, and internal equity. The role also includes health insurance, 401(k) and bonus opportunities.
