Role Overview
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will lead and deliver complex design projects for a variety of industrial, utility, municipal, and institutional clients. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior engineers, and manage the preparation of high-quality construction documents under tight schedules. This position also involves direct coordination with clients, consultants, and contractors throughout the design and construction phases.
Key Responsibilities
Lead civil design for high-profile energy and utilities infrastructure projects.
Assist management in overseeing the full project lifecycle, from initiation design to construction closure.
Oversee and mentor junior engineers, review technical work, and support their development.
Perform engineering calculations and design of site/civil systems for industrial facilities, higher education campuses, and public infrastructure projects for federal, state, and municipal clients.
Conduct planning, permitting, design, and construction support for projects involving stormwater systems, water/wastewater treatment, pump stations, and geothermal.
Prepare construction documents, specifications, construction schedules and cost estimates.
Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, and familiarity with related software to develop site layouts, grading plans, utility profiles, and other design tasks.
Development of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), and coordinate permitting and inspection tasks.
Conduct research on engineering guidelines and regulations of municipal agencies.
Conduct field inspections and manage QA/QC during construction.
Collaborate on proposals and represent CE in meetings with clients and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Experience: 7–10 years in civil engineering, with a focus on utilities and public infrastructure.
Licensure: EIT required; PE preferred.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of civil design, construction practices, and relevant building codes.
Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office; Revit familiarity a plus.
Other: Valid NYS driver’s license (or equivalent) and willingness to travel throughout the NYC Metro Area.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
