Description Operate police radio and dispatch safety units. Answer telephones, route calls, and respond to 911 calls. Monitor video/alarm systems for fire and security, determining appropriate action. Operate SUN/CLETS/ARJIS computer with various software. Process lost and found items, sort, data entry, distribute, and file reports. Monitor emergency call boxes, take crime reports, maintain confidential information for alarms, keys, housing, and emergency notifications. Assist in development and maintenance of police communications procedure manuals. Utilize video monitoring systems and update electronic administrative and criminal files.
All applicants must pass a POST Dispatcher Certificate test within 12 months of hire. Availability for on‑call assignments, overtime, all shifts, weekends, and holidays is required.

Skill in completing and properly handling forms, reports, and logs.
Experience with office machines such as fax, copier, scanner, and shredder.
Special Conditions
On‑call assignments, overtime, all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Must have a workable telephone.
Background investigation required: fingerprints, medical, drug, and psychological examinations.
Must obtain POST Dispatcher Certificate within 12 months of hire.
Compliance with CANRA (California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act).
Pay Transparency Act: Annual Full Pay Range: $78,968 - $100,767. Hourly Equivalent: $37.82 - $48.26. Factors in determining compensation include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs.
