Job Details
The firm is seeking a qualified attorney to join their dynamic NY licensing team! This is a very collaborative group and is often in the office working to solve issues together. Can be trained on specifics of role.
Responsibilities include: Assembling and filing various city and state regulatory applications on behalf of New York bars, restaurants and hotels. Attending State Agency Hearings, Public Hearings, Community Board and certain other city or quasi-city agency meetings (city council meetings, meetings with various neighborhood organizations). Advising clients on various matters related to NY ABCL. Producing research-based briefs and occasional legal memoranda. Project management and responsibility for a heavy caseload. Interacting with clients, via email and phone, while providing excellent customer service Providing general administrative support.
The ideal candidate: Must be Barred in NY (NJ and/or FL is a plus) Well-organized, responsible and an effective communicator. Can be trained in specifics of the role. Critical thinker, detail-oriented, comfortable with public speaking and being in a client-facing role. This person will manage their own caseload and should have professional office experience. Experience with NY ABCL is a plus. Experience/knowledge of the NY hospitality, food, and beverage industry is a plus, and very helpful to be effective in the role.
