We are looking for a meticulous and decisive trader to become a key operator on our Phoenix‑based desk. You will not be a number in a vast organization; you will be the go‑to expert for model and sleeve trading, best execution, and process improvement, mentoring junior talent and collaborating directly with portfolio management. This role is for the professional who operates with a high‑ownership mindset and executes with calm authority when market pressure is highest.
Your Impact & Core Responsibilities
Execute with Precision:
Manage and place block and program orders across equities, ETFs, fixed income, and derivatives, overseeing the full order lifecycle from staging to allocation and settlement across Schwab and Fidelity platforms.
Master Scaled Rebalancing:
Drive portfolio implementation, sleeve maintenance, tax‑aware rebalances, and drift management across thousands of SMA/UMA accounts utilizing your deep expertise in Orion Eclipse/TOM.
Uphold Best Execution:
Serve as a steward of execution quality, rigorously adhering to trading policies, documenting broker rationale, and partnering with Operations to proactively identify and remediate trade errors and breaks.
Own Key Desk Processes:
Act as a subject matter expert for specific trading domains (e.g., options, fixed income), mentoring junior traders and identifying opportunities to build more durable, automated, and scalable desk workflows.
Serve as a Compliance Partner:
Enforce pre‑ and post‑trade compliance rules, including account restrictions, wash‑sales, and restricted lists, ensuring an audit‑ready trail for all trading activity.
Coordinate with Key Counterparties:
Act as a primary trading contact with our custodian and broker partners, facilitating seamless trade routing, settlement, and exception management.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required:
5+ years of active trading experience on the buy‑side (RIA, TAMP, Asset Manager) with hands‑on experience across equities, fixed income, and derivatives.
Required:
Demonstrable, hands‑on expertise with the Orion Eclipse/TOM platform for scaled model trading, rebalancing, and sleeve management.
Required:
Experience working within an RIA or institutional environment, directly managing workflows with custodians like Charles Schwab or Fidelity.
Required:
The discipline to be market‑ready in our Phoenix office by approximately 5:45 AM daily, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail and calm under pressure.
Preferred:
Practical experience with options/futures trading, including positioning and collateral management.
Preferred:
Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with SQL, Python, or rule‑based automation is a significant plus.
