Departmental Overview: The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics consists of more than 250 staff members and coaches and sponsors 30 varsity sports programs, supporting over 850 student‑athletes who participate in NCAA activities. We are looking for a creative, forward‑thinking individual who can lead a talented team, is analytical and strategic, and can execute marketing campaigns. Position Summary: This role involves developing, promoting, and supporting the operational and strategic aspects of intercollegiate student‑athlete programs, including planning, scheduling, budget administration, and travel. The Equipment Manager, under the supervision of the Director, will assist with the overall equipment operation for 29 Division I varsity sports, including both men’s and women’s programs. Responsibilities include ordering, sizing, inventory, issuing, returning, maintaining, and monitoring all apparel and equipment for the Athletics Department. Application Review Date

Independently plan, organize, and manage the equipment needs for multiple sports. Serve as the main point of contact between the sports/units and the apparel/equipment that has been ordered, inventoried, and assigned. Possess product knowledge for each sport/unit to help make apparel and equipment decisions with the coach/unit heads. Have full accountability for storage organization and maintenance of sports equipment and apparel at assigned facility. Make decisions about equipment/apparel storage life, location, and safety. Accountable for all locker‑room laundry and locker assignments. Accountable for washing and drying all soiled laundry from the department, staff and student athletes. Own the ordering process for a collection of sports/units and work with coaches or unit heads to determine yearly orders. Handle one‑off orders on an as‑needed basis. Maintain an ordering sport‑specific timeline/schedule shared with coach/unit head to ensure transparency. Submit, track, and troubleshoot orders. Work with student and part‑time workers to accomplish daily tasks. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, train workers, and ensure work is done in a timely manner. Analyze, review and implement new or revised standard operating procedures and processes for the Equipment department and staff. Independently apply AEMA (Athletic Equipment Manager Association) policies, procedures, and methodologies to everyday tasks for the equipment room within Intercollegiate Athletics. Other duties as assigned, including professional development. Required Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of program activity and best practices. Problem‑solving skills; ability to multitask with frequent interruptions and be an effective listener. Highly effective verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in basic computer applications relevant to job duties. Bachelor’s degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Salary & Benefits

The budgeted annual salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $60,000.00 – $64,000.00.
