Senior Revenue Systems Accountant
Location: Raleigh, NC
Pay range: $100,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr.
We are seeking a
Senior Revenue Systems Accountant
with strong data and systems skills, a solid understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition, and a passion for automation and process improvement. This role will play a key part in optimizing revenue systems and collaborating with developers to enhance automation and efficiency. Ideal candidates will have experience in SaaS revenue models and a desire to grow into leadership and systems‑focused roles.
Key Responsibilities
Review complex customer contracts for ASC 606 considerations and assess operational impact.
Drive adoption of new accounting systems and features; manage projects and stakeholders effectively.
Translate accounting requirements into system specifications for developers to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Develop training and documentation for Finance, Sales, and Revenue Operations teams, including evaluating AI tools for process improvement.
Draft accounting memos and respond to external auditor inquiries.
Ensure accuracy of monthly revenue reporting through automated controls and variance analysis.
Identify opportunities to scale revenue processes as the organization grows, balancing compliance with efficiency.
Participate in month‑end close while driving process improvements to reduce timelines.
Mentor junior staff on revenue recognition challenges.
Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
3-4 years with strong systems exposure, or 5+ years in SaaS accounting with proven systems/process leadership.
Practical experience with system development cycles.
Solid understanding of ASC 606 principles and SSP-based revenue recognition.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Familiarity with generative AI tools and their application in accounting and finance.
Experience supporting financial reporting and revenue variance analysis.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; detail‑oriented.
Experience mentoring junior team members.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Workday Financials and Salesforce.
CPA license.
