Summary
We are seeking a creative and detail‑oriented Mechanical Designer to join our Electrostatics R&D team. The Mechanical Designer is responsible for creating detailed 2D and 3D mechanical designs and drawings for parts, assemblies, and systems using CAD software. This role collaborates closely with engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet performance, cost, and manufacturability requirements. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with creativity and attention to detail. Essential Functions
Develop detailed 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor). Collaborate with engineers to translate conceptual designs into manufacturable components. Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection for mechanical systems. Revise and update existing designs to improve performance, reduce cost, or support product enhancements. Work with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective. Maintain design documentation, drawing standards, and version control. Support prototype builds and assist in testing, validation, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems. Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations. Participate in design reviews and provide technical input to cross‑functional teams. Qualifications
Associate's or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Technology, or a related field. 2–5 years of experience in mechanical design. Proficiency in 3D CAD SolidWorks. Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems. Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems and engineering documentation practices. Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) or simulation tools is a plus. Strong attention to detail and design accuracy. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
