About the Role We’re seeking a
Senior Accounting Manager
to play a key leadership role in our Client Advisory & Fractional CFO team. In this role, you’ll serve as the day‑to‑day CFO and accounting lead for multiple clients, driving monthly close and reporting, financial planning, process improvements, and strategic insights that support business growth.
You’ll own client relationships end‑to‑end—driving month‑end close and reporting, financial planning, process improvements, and strategic insights that support business growth. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to business owners and their leadership teams, helping them understand their financial health, make informed decisions, and position their companies for sustainable success.
This is a high‑impact, client‑facing position for someone with strong accounting and financial acumen who enjoys solving problems, leading teams, and helping companies succeed.
What You’ll Do
Own the close:
Lead and review monthly and quarterly closes, management reports, and KPI dashboards; analyze financial performance, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Forecast & model:
Manage cash flow, budgets, and rolling forecasts; build pricing, margin, and scenario models to drive strategic decisions.
Advise clients:
Review financial performance with management teams, identify trends, and recommend actions to improve profitability, efficiency, and growth.
Improve systems and processes:
Streamline workflows across AP/AR, revenue recognition, and inventory/COGS; enhance accounting, bill pay, and reporting tools (QBO, Bill.com, Reach Reporting, etc.).
Oversee tax coordination:
Partner with our tax team on planning, structure, entity set‑up, and compliance; assist with tax projections.
Support capital and growth:
Manage lender relationships, monitor covenants, and support capital planning and margin improvement initiatives.
Mentor and manage:
Lead and coach accounting manager and senior accountants; ensure quality control and consistency across client engagements.
Lead projects:
Manage client onboarding, internal control improvements, and other strategic initiatives that drive operational excellence.
What You’ll Bring
6‑10+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally in public accounting and/or SMB or lower mid‑market environments.
Proven experience as a Controller, Senior Accounting Manager, or Fractional CFO, managing multiple clients or business units.
Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, cash forecasting, FP&A, and KPI design.
Excellent client relationship management and communication skills and ability to present at board and executive levels.
CPA or CMA preferred but not required.
High attention to detail, comfort with multi‑tasking, and ability to lead teams through change.
Nice to Have
Experience with QuickBooks Online, Excel, Google Sheets, Power BI or Tableau, NetSuite, Bill.com, CCH ProSystem, or similar tools.
Exposure to service‑based, field services, or construction industries.
Familiarity with HubSpot CRM or other client management tools.
