Base pay range $175,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr

Position Overview The Director of Contracts serves as the senior authority overseeing all contractual and subcontractual activities within the organization. This individual will ensure the effective administration of government and commercial contracts throughout the full lifecycle—from proposal development and negotiation through execution and closeout. The role requires an accomplished professional with a deep understanding of federal acquisition regulations, proven leadership capabilities, and the ability to guide complex contractual strategies in support of organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic direction and oversight for all contract and subcontract administration activities across multiple programs and business areas.

Manage the full lifecycle of government and commercial contracts, including negotiation, award, modification, and closeout, while ensuring strict compliance with FAR, DFARS, and other applicable regulations.

Direct the preparation, review, and submission of compliant cost and business volumes for proposals, including rate development, profitability assessments, and risk analyses.

Negotiate and execute a variety of contractual instruments, including prime contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, nondisclosure agreements, and pricing arrangements.

Collaborate closely with Program Management, Business Development, Capture, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure contractual alignment with corporate goals and risk tolerance.

Support internal and external audits, reviews, and compliance assessments related to contracting and procurement functions.

Establish and maintain standardized processes, tools, and best practices for efficient and compliant contract management.

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of contracts and subcontracts professionals to ensure high performance, professional growth, and adherence to company standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline is required; a Master’s degree and/or professional certification (e.g., CPCM, NCMA) is strongly preferred.

A minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in U.S. government contracting, subcontracts management, and pricing, including at least five (5) years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.

Comprehensive knowledge of federal contracting principles, practices, and procedures, including FAR and DFARS compliance.

Demonstrated success managing complex contractual portfolios and leading negotiations with government agencies and prime or subcontract partners.

Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance; an active clearance is highly desirable.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex contractual concepts effectively to all levels of the organization.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Project).

Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Experience

Working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint, GovWin, or comparable enterprise resource planning and contract management systems.

Experience supporting large-scale IDIQ contracts, task orders, GSA schedules, and other federal procurement vehicles.
