Job Summary
The General Manager is a strategic and hands‑on leader in support of business goals and growth, by driving operational efficiencies and best practices in warehouse and traffic operations. This position oversees daily processes and operations to ensure successful order fulfillment, including inbound receiving, inventory storage, picking and packing, and all outbound shipping. The General Manager is responsible for generating revenue through business development. This position provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers while demonstrating the company values and supporting the mission. Job Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise, train, and mentor staff. Identify professional development opportunities and provide performance feedback on an ongoing basis Generate revenue through business development by fostering external customer relationships Improve the operating model to optimize efficiency and accuracy Implement shipping, receiving, and warehouse management best practices Lead organizational change and manage programs to support business growth Create, analyze, and report regular production metrics tied to KPIs Collaborate with shared service departments including IT, HR, General Services, Legal, and General Accounting Develop, implement, and maintain a Warehouse Management System (WMS) that retains inventory, charge activity, shipping, and receiving records Maintain appropriate staffing levels to successfully carryout daily business activities and services May include commercial business development to achieve projected growth goals Identify vendors, routes, and transportation methods to best support all areas of the business Contract and manage third party fulfillment, storage facilitates, and services Oversee facility management, repairs, maintenance, codes, and ordinance compliance Partner with HR and Payroll Department to conduct performance evaluations, corrective actions, payroll, timekeeping, pay changes, and promotions for final approval Manage support functions including administrative activities,, supply purchasing, and budgeting Develop and implement an efficient method for charging internal and external customers for services Serve as a company representative to county, state and federal agencies for facility inspections Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics or related field; or equivalent related experience 7 years warehouse, fulfillment, logistics, or distribution management experience, with exposure to a variety of traffic contexts Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing policies and practices to optimize efficient and measurable KPIs Working knowledge of TQM / ERP / WMS concepts Computer experience with MS Office Suite Cost effective mind‑set Advanced computer skills and ability to effectively operate computer equipment, software systems and databases Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while accomplishing daily tasks Effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills Attention to detail, critical thinker and problem‑solving skills High standards for integrity, honesty, professionalism, and work ethic Commitment to service excellence Ability to work independently while demonstrating excellent organization and follow through Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload Ability and willingness to move with purpose and a strong sense of urgency Self‑motivated, positive, and enthusiastic Self‑starter with a strong desire to exceed expectations and capable of supporting a team Maintains confidentiality discretion Ability to effectively work in collaboration with others to achieve business objectives Willing to grow and be challenged Attends training as deemed necessary Seniority Level
