Liberty Personnel Services, Inc.
The
Staff Accountant
reports directly to the
Controller
and is responsible for performing a variety of
general ledger accounting
tasks,
financial reporting , and
account analysis . This position plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s
financial statements
by preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and assisting with
month-end and year-end close processes .
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain
balance sheet account reconciliations , actively research and resolve reconciling items, and ensure timely resolution.
Prepare and analyze
journal entries
to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with
GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) .
Assist with
monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities , including
accruals, prepayments, and adjusting entries .
Support the preparation of
financial statements ,
management reports , and
variance
with
budget vs. actual
and
forecast variance analysis
as required.
Participate in
physical inventory counts
and perform
inventory reconciliations
to ensure accuracy of cost accounting data.
Support
accounts payable (A/P) ,
accounts receivable (A/R) ,
payroll , and other transactional processes as needed.
Ensure compliance with
internal control policies
and assist in developing and maintaining
SOX-compliant
accounting procedures.
Collaborate with external auditors by preparing schedules and supporting documentation for the
annual audit .
Maintain and organize
accounting records
and documentation in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
Comply with all applicable
environmental, health, and safety (EHS)
policies and promptly report unsafe conditions, near misses, and injuries.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting ,
Finance , or a related field.
1–3 years of experience in general accounting or public accounting preferred.
Working knowledge of
GAAP
and
financial reporting principles .
Proficiency in
Microsoft Excel
and
ERP systems
(e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or QuickBooks).
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
