Position Overview
Schedule: 26 weeks per year of clinical service, alternating call while on service.
Call Schedule: Average 1:4 (home call, coming in as needed).
Practice Details: Coverage of pediatric floor admissions and rounding, healthy newborn nursery rounding, and consultation to our ED for children.
Facility: Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent, Evansville, IN.

Responsibilities
Full-time BE/BC Pediatric Hospitalist (Pediatric Hospitalist Medicine or General Pediatrics with inpatient experience).
Coverage of 15‑bed pediatric inpatient unit with 3 full‑time and 2 part‑time pediatric hospitalists.
7‑bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit staffed by Pediatric Intensivists.
Level III NICU staffed by in‑house neonatologists (hospitalists do not provide delivery or NICU coverage).
Level II Pediatric Trauma Verification.
Emergency Room area dedicated for children.

Regional perinatal center with around 1,400 deliveries annually.
Specially‑trained obstetric emergency teams and maternal‑fetal medicine physicians.
State‑of‑the‑art labor/delivery/recovery suite (newly renovated in 2024).

Outpatient Behavioral Health Program with pediatric psychologists and LCSWs.

Requirements
Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
