Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Job Description

This position is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy in order fulfillment, and maintaining inventory records. The role plays a critical part in the supply chain by ensuring materials, parts, and products are received, stored, and shipped efficiently.

Responsibilities

Support all activities related to inbound shipments, including unloading deliveries from trailers to the dock using a hand truck and/or forklift.

Handle heavy equipment unloads and segregate inbound material into direct and indirect categories.

Stage materials within the facility in support of all external teams.

Assist the Production Control team with material moves in support of quality inspection, putaway actions, and material issues.

Provide assistance to employees when preparing outbound parcel and freight shipments processed through the appropriate Shipment Request form.

Assist the Shipping & Receiving and Production Control teams with clearing out dunnage and removing empty boxes and crates from the inbound dock.

Essential Skills

Familiarity with spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets).

Experience supporting warehouse and production functions within a high-paced organization, preferably in automotive, aerospace, or other related industries.

Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root cause issues, and recommend solutions.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other systems for work instructions creation.

Experience in forklift operation, shipping and receiving, logistics, and inventory control.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Familiarity with ERP/WMS systems is a nice-to-have.

The work environment involves lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds, and requires the ability to walk, stand, crouch, bench, kneel, lift, carry, and reach as needed in large and tight spaces.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sturgis, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
