Job Overview
As a Housing Resource Specialist, I serve as the primary contact, advocate, and liaison for clients, families, landlords, and community partners to support housing stability and service plan goals. I assist clients with housing searches, Section 8 applications and recertifications, and work to maintain positive landlord relationships while ensuring compliance with program requirements. Additionally, I facilitate referrals, monitor client progress, maintain accurate documentation, and collaborate with community providers to promote long-term housing success and quality service delivery.
Program Info
Keeping Families Together provides both short and long-term supportive housing for high risk families who have a current or ongoing history of homelessness, with children at risk of removal or soon to be reunified. The program provides housing resource specialty, case management, therapy and support groups to families who receive either a program-based or rental assistant voucher.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the contact point, advocate and informational resource for clients, care team, family/caregivers and community resources regarding client's service plan Liaison between clients, landlords, and DCA to ensure family maintains good tenancy Facilitate housing searches for new enrollments and relocations as needed Assist with completion of section 8 voucher applications and re-certifications Partner with clients to monitor adherence to their service plan, evaluate effectiveness, monitor progress in a timely manner and facilitate changes as required. Facilitate client linkages, referrals and access to appropriate treatment, community supports and medical or specialty providers according to the service plan Cultivate and maintain relationships with external community providers and supports. Completes and submits accurate reports and chart documentation in a complete and timely manner according to program guidelines and established procedures. Ensures quality and accuracy of written and verbal communications. Support the Quality/Compliance/Risk function as required. Performs other related duties as assigned Requirements:
Bachelor's level practitioner with at least 2 years of experience in social service-related or housing related field preferred. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Must be able to exercise independent thinking and good judgment under all circumstances. Must be able to analyze work, set goals, develop plans and utilize time effectively and efficiently. Additional Information:
Base Pay: $19.23/hourly Sign-on Bonus: $500 Bilingual Rate: An additional $1.50/hourly rate added to the base pay if Spanish proficient Schedule: Days What we provide:
