The BHASD is seeking a
Middle School Track and Field Assistant Coach
to instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for individual and team success. The coach must also model socially acceptable character development, self‑discipline, self‑confidence, and pride of accomplishment. Knowledge and skills will be upgraded through coaching clinics, observations, and consultation.
In addition to coaching duties, this role carries responsibility for public exposure, community image, and the mental well‑being of athletes. The position may include extended time, risk of injury, and other due‑process considerations. Coaches are expected to exercise common sense and good judgment in all circumstances.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
Evidence of effective leadership and previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport.
Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport, and a willingness to examine new theories and procedures.
Serves as an appropriate role model for student athletes through instructions and actions.
Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
Experience in UCA and National Competition Routines preferred.
Schedule
Part time, no benefits.
Spring Athletic Season – mid‑February through May.
