Who You Are

A Mathematics teacher responsible for content instruction, supervision, and evaluation of all students within their teaching assignment, working within board policies and state laws to develop each child to their fullest potential.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.

A New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate, Certificate of Eligibility (CE), or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) in Mathematics.

The Role

Develops and administers mathematics curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.

Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small‑group instruction, and student learning.

Develops lesson plans and instructional materials for the math subject area, translating plans into learning experiences.

Teaches knowledge and skills in mathematics, including real and imaginary numbers, formulas, calculations, and geometry, promoting creative thinking.

Designs learning activities to demonstrate the application of mathematics to everyday existence and problem‑solving.

Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, modifying instructional methods to fit individual needs, including students with special needs.

Maintains familiarity with district and New Jersey State standardized tests to adapt the curriculum for maximum achievement.

Continues to acquire professional knowledge by attending seminars, workshops, or professional meetings, or by conducting research.

Organizes and maintains a system for accurate record‑keeping, grading and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance.

Encourages parental involvement and ensures effective communication with students and parents.

Ensures student conduct conforms to school standards and district policies.

Coordinates with other professional staff members, especially within grade level, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.

Selects and requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids, and supplies; maintains inventory records.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary range: BA $64,570 – $92,200 / MA $65,820 – $93,450.

Term of Employment: 10.5 months.

Union: MPTEA.
