Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 4921)

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
Provide best‑in‑class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond to questions quickly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, promote special promotions, and thank guests for shopping.
Support the overall shopping environment, including visual merchandising, operations, and current sales initiatives.
Process guest purchases and returns accurately using the POS system, ensuring top‑notch service.
Handle phone calls professionally; answer promptly, use the company greeting, and, when necessary, elevate customer issues to the Store Manager.
Promote GameStop’s guest benefits (reservations, trade‑in, Pro Rewards).
Assist the Store Manager in setting service expectations, training associates, and managing performance feedback.
Ensure associates complete onboarding, job training, and compliance training before shifts.
Schedule associates, maintaining staffing levels and compliance with break guidelines.
Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify accurate compensation.
Maintain clean, organized store areas, including restrooms, and keep fixtures functional.
Fulfill and ship omni‑channel orders daily.
Implement inventory control and loss prevention practices; conduct inventory counts, manage shipments, and handle defectives or recalls.
Maintain guest and associate safety, reporting injuries per company guidelines.
Support sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete administrative duties.
Manage cash handling, bank deposits, and daily closeout paperwork accurately.
Adhere to all GameStop policies, opening/closing procedures, and code of conduct.
Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
Proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
Minimum age: 18 years.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
Video game knowledge preferred.

Provide individualized assistance to every guest.
Excellent verbal and written communication; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Basic mathematics and alphabetizing skills.
Complete required paperwork accurately.

Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability.
Problem‑solving ability and ability to handle pressure without impacting guest interactions.
Reliable, trustworthy, good judgment.
Work alone, stand and move throughout the store up to 12 hours/day.
Perform basic lifting and mobility tasks (up to 30 lbs, climb ladders, etc.).
Onboarded understanding of military ranks and insignia (for military base locations).
