The Cross Roads Police Department is seeking dedicated and community-oriented individuals to serve as certified police officers. Officers play a vital role in protecting life and property, enforcing laws, preserving peace, and fostering strong relationships with the community. As an officer with the Cross Roads Police Department, you will be provided with new and innovative equipment to support you in your role.
The Cross Roads Police Department proudly serves the Town of Cross Roads, Texas, a growing community in North Texas, situated along the busy U.S. Highway 380 corridor. Since commencing operations in 2021, our department has been dedicated to delivering high-quality, community-oriented policing tailored to the specific needs of our residents, businesses, and visitors.
Though small in size, our agency delivers a full range of law enforcement services, including:
Patrol & Emergency Response
Traffic Enforcement & Crash Investigation
Criminal Investigations
Community Policing & Outreach
School Resource Officers (anticipated for 2027 opening of the new Denton ISD High School)
Police Officer Salary Range FY2026
Step 1: $75,401
Step 2: $78,418
Step 3: $81,555
Step 4: $84,817
Step 5: $88,209
Step 6: $91,738
Lateral pay available at Step 3 ($81,555) for applicants with 3+ years of experience
Qualifications & Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework in criminal justice preferred)
Must hold a valid Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Peace Officer License
Prior law enforcement experience preferred, but not required
Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
Must be able to perform all physical duties and operate law enforcement equipment
Must pass background investigation, polygraph, physical, psychological exam, and drug screening
