Description
The Building Maintenance Mechanic performs diversified duties involving the repair and service of the building, plant equipment and utilities.
Key Responsibilities Responsible for maintenance of heat, water, gas, sprinkler systems, air conditioning, carpentry, masonry, sheet metal and other plant systems Handles the installation, fixing, and replacement of ceilings, walls, flooring and roofing Responsible for wood and metal framing walls, machine crates, etc Responsible for painting interior and exterior surfaces Installs, repairs and maintains a variety of plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, faucets and related equipment Interprets blueprints, drawings, specifications and manuals Responsible for making emergency repairs to offset production delays Maintains building systems such as compressors and evaporators Promote a safe workplace by performing all tasks in a safe and thoughtful manner in compliance with all rules, procedures, instructions, devices, equipment and use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Maintain vigilance for any hazardous conditions or practices in the workplace and immediately report any unsafe condition or practice to your supervisor. Performs other duties as directed Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
High School Diploma 5 + years of Carpentry and/or Building Maintenance experience; Welding and Pipefitting experience a plus 4 + years of HVAC experience Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy Strong technical and problem solving skills Outstanding troubleshooting skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Possesses strong commitment to a team environment while working well with others Outstanding interpersonal skills Prioritize and completes a variety of tasks in a timely manner Well-versed in plumbing, carpentry and painting etc. Working knowledge of maintenance procedures Knowledge of mathematical principles Proficient in operating and maintaining tools used in carpentry, plumbing and related building trades Ability to interpret drawings and blueprints Job Benefits
