Our client is seeking a Controller to oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance. Reporting to the CFO, you’ll manage day-to-day accounting, month-end close, audits, and financial statement preparation. You’ll supervise finance staff, payroll, and accounts payable, ensuring adherence to fiscal policies, GAAP, and program fund accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily accounting operations and month-end close
Prepare financial statements and lead annual audits
Supervise payroll, accounts payable, and finance staff
Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and donor restrictions
Support budgeting, grant compliance, and financial analysis
Serve as main contact for auditors and board committees
Drive process improvements and partner with the CFO on financial systems
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including nonprofit sector
Strong knowledge of GAAP, fund accounting, and nonprofit compliance
Experience with financial management systems (Financial Edge a plus)
Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
