FLSA CLASSIFICATION : Non-Exempt COMPENSATION PLAN : Educational Support Personnel PAY RANGE : Range 3 JOB SUMMARY : Active supervision of students in a school-based child‑care program under the guidance of a qualified leader. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Completes all tasks assigned by director, assistant director, or leader. Follow procedures as stated in the ECS Procedures Manual. Participates and plays with students in structured and unstructured activities. Maintains safe conditions for students and staff. Follows and enforces program discipline policies and procedures. Assists with maintenance, proper storage, and repair of equipment, materials and supplies. Contributes ideas for enrichment activities, curriculum, and program quality. Demonstrates excellent communication with parents, students, school staff and co workers. Follows district policies and goals and uses district facilities with care. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
At least 16 years of age. Assistants must work directly under the supervision of the director, assistant director or leader. Each year of employment, the assistant must complete at least 15 clock hours of training. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Current First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days. Demonstrate ability to work with school‑age children. Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire. MINIMUM CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
N/A PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working in a paid licensed child‑care program, teaching assistant/para‑educator, or licensed teaching. Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
Light work strength level (lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds). Occasional lifting, pulling, and/or pushing. Frequent bending, reaching, climbing. Visual concentration. Squatting. Working with others.
