Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Controls Engineer with troubleshooting experience in at least one of these: IFix for HMI, Studio 5000 ladder programming, or Allen Bradley PLCs
Lean Manufacturing knowledge

Project leadership (scope to implementation)
Ability to solve problems through manufacturing data

Day to Day The Controls Engineer will provide subject matter expertise in engineering that improves product, process and/or equipment performance (cost, quality and service) and/or advances the innovation process to enable the delivery of new products. Provides solutions for increased process selects, increased material utilization, decreased costs, and improvement to product quality by planning, organizing and implementing projects. Is a leader in obtaining fundamental process understanding and meeting the lowest cost producer objectives. Designs and analyses first generation / next generation products, processes and/or equipment in support of a new product / technology introduction. Maintains knowledge of the latest developments in their area of expertise in order to identify and document any intellectual property developed as part of a project.
Key Responsibilities
Provides leadership in problem solving, and technical expertise, to ensure timely resolution of short-term process and equipment issues, and higher level troubleshooting
Provides direction to other technicians / engineers, coaches junior engineers, and provides guidance to maintenance personnel
Provides general engineering and manufacturing skills and knowledge (understands theories and fundamentals), and capable of leading projects to get to root cause of issues, and put permanent solutions in place
Provides disciplined project leadership across multiple stages of innovation for new product, process, cost reduction and capacity improvement initiatives
Recommends and implements permanent solutions to long term performance issues, and improves existing and new technologies and processes
Develops and leads some areas of the manufacturing and/or technical roadmap. Documents material, process and/or equipment to protect and contribute to Intellectual Property improvements
Proficient in use of statistical data analysis and DOE in process problem solving and process/product improvement
Identifies, justifies, and implements cost reduction, capacity enhancement, capital equipment and other improvement initiatives
Introduces new products and technologies
Meets all Environmental, Safety and Health requirements
Develops SME knowledge of material, process and/or equipment in focused areas of manufacturing or engineering
Tracks the effectiveness of projects and implemented cost reductions, using up-time, cost, productivity, and other appropriate measures
Is a leader and Subject Matter Expert (SME) in process control/discipline, SPC, SQC, OEE, Designed Experiments, and other Performance Excellence processes (Green and Black-belt skills)
Designs and/or specifies new equipment or modifies existing equipment to continuously improve process performance. Coordinates installation, debugging and initial operation of new equipment and systems
