ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY – ENTRY LEVEL (ATTORNEY I) Knight Law Group, LLP is a California litigation firm and a leader in Lemon Law. We aggressively represent consumers who have unknowingly purchased defective vehicles. We seek junior litigation associates to work on a hybrid schedule from our Century City, Walnut Creek, Roseville, or Newport Beach offices.

A successful candidate will have 6 months to 3 years of litigation experience and a desire to serve public interest by advocating for California consumers against car manufacturers and dealers. The role requires a dedicated, nimble junior who works closely with partners and senior attorneys to develop aggressive discovery‑driven tactics, while navigating competing priorities and stakeholder needs.

We offer immediate experience in written discovery, motions, oral argument, depositions, and trial preparation, plus ongoing development opportunities for those interested in growing into aggressive litigators or trial attorneys.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Draft written discovery, review responses and document productions, and participate in e‑discovery review.

Draft written discovery responses to requests served on our consumer clients.

Draft motions related to written discovery disputes.

Draft responses to pleading challenges.

Prepare for and participate in oral arguments in related courtrooms (discovery disputes, pleading challenges, case‑management conferences, ex‑parte requests).

Attend and defend consumer client depositions.

Take percipient witness depositions.

Attend vehicle inspections with expert witnesses.

Assume responsibility for timely reporting and billing of hours worked.

Grow into assisting with dispositive motions, higher‑stakes depositions, and trial preparation.

Assist with other tasks assigned by partners.

Qualifications & Skills

J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law school.

Member in good standing of the California Bar.

At least six (6) months of experience as a California‑licensed attorney, ideally with some litigation experience (Lemon Law not required).

Genuine interest in consumer protection and representation.

Hunger for professional growth, with a “no job is too big or too small” mentality.

Collaborative and willing to operate in a team‑oriented environment.

Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required.

Proficient in MS Office, Westlaw, and Outlook.

Skilled and decisive problem‑solver with the ability to unravel complex issues.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills and ability to track and comply with deadlines in a busy, fast‑paced environment.

Willingness to learn and apply technology solutions and work in a paperless environment.

Willingness to travel within California for court appearances, vehicle inspections, and depositions.

Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
