Director of Recruiting and Development / Attorney
Segal McCambridge, a national litigation firm, is seeking an experienced paralegal to join our general liability team in Houston. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to work on challenging litigation in a collaborative, team environment within a well‑established and growing organization.
The successful candidate will take ownership of files and work with the handling attorneys to complete all necessary litigation functions from pleadings through trial preparation.
Desired skills and knowledge
Minimum 3 years of experience as a paralegal in a civil litigation setting
Experience with handling TX matters, including filing with state and federal courts
Strong understanding of civil litigation procedures and legal terminology
Excellent organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under pressure
Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in drafting, editing and proofreading documents
Proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Windows Applications, Internet search engines and electronic court filing and service applications
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Paralegal degree preferred
Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with senior level individuals both internally and externally
Ability to follow instructions effectively
Independent judgment required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified workload
Experience with billing and submitting time
