Job Summary
The Teacher is responsible for providing high‑quality, standards‑based instruction to students, creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment, and supporting student academic and social‑emotional growth. The Teacher designs engaging lessons, assesses student progress, and collaborates with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to ensure student success.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement daily lesson plans aligned with state standards and school curriculum.
Use a variety of instructional strategies to support diverse learning styles and needs.
Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
Monitor and assess student performance through formal and informal assessments.
Provide timely feedback and academic support to help students meet learning goals.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities.
Participate in school‑wide activities, professional development, and grade‑level or subject‑area team meetings.
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records for attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
Uphold school policies, procedures, and professional expectations.
Foster a growth mindset, critical thinking, and a love of learning in students.
Perform other duties that may be required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
Valid state teaching certification/license in the applicable subject area and grade level.
Knowledge of instructional best practices, curriculum, and classroom management.
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands
Ability to stand, walk, and actively instruct for extended periods.
May require lifting and moving instructional materials (up to 20 lbs.).
Visual and auditory ability to respond to classroom and student needs.
Work Environment
General classroom setting within a school building.
Regular interaction with students, parents, faculty, and staff.
May include supervision of students in non‑classroom settings (e.g., recess, lunch, field trips).
