The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Brokerage franchise by serving as Client of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Brokerage's various industry and government regulators and serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community.
Background on the Position We're seeking someone to join our MSWM Advisory Consulting Group Finance team as a Temp/Contingent in Wealth Management Finance. This team is dedicated to providing support to Brokerage's Wealth Management segment (MSWM), specifically the Consulting Group, MSWM's Advisory Platform. Members of the Wealth Management Finance team can expect to be involved in accounting, finance, and process transformation. This is a Contingent/Temp level position within our Corporate Controllers, Reporting & Accounting Job Family which is responsible for the accuracy and control of the Firm's books and records to produce the consolidated firm, segment and legal entities financial statements, including development, management and oversight of financial accounting & reporting systems as well as database management, including capital and liquidity reporting and external reporting functions.
Primary Responsibilities: -Collaborate with a varied group of colleagues in Finance and across the Firm -Responsible for and lead aspects of individual and team deliverables and projects, leveraging in-depth knowledge of Finance functional area, product and/or client segments -Adhere to the Firm's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls; proactively identify ways to reduce risk in work -Act as a culture carrier; embody and set an example of the Firm's values and hold yourself and others accountable to Firm Standards -Produce, maintain and automate detailed analyses on the full swath of financial metrics that are relevant to Wealth Management (WM) and Firm initiatives -Contribute to the reporting and budgeting on publicly reported metrics such as Consulting Group Flows -Cross-functional role working and learning with other teams to gain key insights. Including but not limited to: Business Management, Product, Accounting, Bank, Strategy, Data, offshore teams, etc. -Execute enhanced analyses through partnership and collaboration to drive greater transparency, business performance evaluation and business strategy formulation -Additional ad-hoc analyses and recurring reporting as necessary
Qualifications: -Preferred undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance, with 2-3 years of relevant business experience. -Formal accounting and/or auditing experience greatly preferred. -Advanced computer skills (notably Excel, specifically the ability to create pivot tables, and VLOOKUP functions) -Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. -Strong communication (verbal and written), organizational skills, and ability to multi-task. -Ability to work independently on deliverables to achieve accurate results. -Ability to prioritize conflicting demands and maintain excellent communication regarding deliverables. -Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with members of the senior management team and others within the Company.
