Johns Hopkins University seeks a

Postdoctoral Fellow

for an appointment in the National Research Center on Advanced Education, in the School of Education (SOE) for Fall 2025. Scholars who have completed a Ph.D. in education or a related field and have strong quantitative and mixed methods methodological skills and experience with advanced education, gifted education, or talent development are invited to apply to work on cutting edge research to advance understanding of advanced learning in American K‑12 schools. Fall 2025 fellowship focus:

Fellows are expected to engage full‑time on research and data analysis projects that align with the center's mission and activities. Interested candidates will provide a brief proposal that articulates how their research interests align with the goals and projects of the National Research Center on Advanced Education. Specifically, their interest should address the following themes: better disseminate and translate recent empirical developments on Advanced Education to educators better support policymakers as they create state‑level policies to broaden access to advanced services and support advanced achievement better understand how teacher characteristics and training impact students' advanced performance better understand how certain interventions work in actual classroom settings collect data on advanced learning that would be helpful to policymakers, SEA leadership, and district leadership and create support systems for its effective use Final goals and objectives will be jointly established at the start of the fellowship and will include elements of research design, data collection and analysis, grant writing, mentoring experience, interacting with school, district, and state partners, preparation of publications, and career development. The Fellow will work closely with the other members of the research and development team (researchers and practitioners) and will have opportunities to learn about and collaborate with research teams in the School of Education and throughout the JHU community in a collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment. The fellowship provides a competitive stipend, a conference and travel stipend, and other benefits for a one‑year, renewable position annually for a total of two years. The selected candidate will be appointed as a postdoctoral fellow through the School of Education where training will include access to the rich academic environment (seminars, colloquia, teaching opportunities, etc.). The expected base pay salary range for this position is

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
