Clinical Professions | College of Medicine Responsibilities

Serving as a core faculty member in the Biomedical Sciences program. Teaching undergraduate courses in Biology that include lower‑level undergraduate studies courses and upper‑level courses with an emphasis on Anatomy and Physiology and other biology courses in the biomedical degree curriculum. Providing mentorship, advising, and support to students. Engaging in course and curriculum development activities including laboratory management. Working with colleagues on campus and in the community to promote this new program and engage with local health‑related initiatives to benefit student experiences and program access. Collaborating as a team with colleagues at FSU Tallahassee in the College of Medicine and Biology Department for course coordination and committee service. Being an engaged faculty member for the FSU Panama City Campus. Qualifications

Candidates must have a doctorate degree from an accredited institution in Biology, Medicine, or related field with qualifications to teach biology courses (e.g., Ph.D. in Biology, an MD, or DO). Candidates who are ABD (all but dissertation) will be considered and candidates who have a Master’s Degree in Biology with a different related doctoral degree will also be considered (e.g., PharmD, MD, DPH, etc.). Preferred Qualifications

Experience in both university teaching and clinical practice in health‑related settings. Strong preference will be given to candidates who can teach a variety of courses, such as Biology 1 & 2, Anatomy and Physiology, and other biology electives like genetics, molecular biology, developmental biology, immunology, etc. Experience translating biological concepts to pre‑health students, who hold a strong record of quality teaching, and have a strong ability to mentor students for future careers. FSU Panama City is offering a new degree program in Biomedical Sciences in collaboration with the FSU College of Medicine. The FSU Biomedical Sciences/Interdisciplinary Medical Sciences undergraduate degree program consists of a rigorous science curriculum with embedded experiential learning requirements to prepare students for pre‑health and pre‑medical graduate programs. Students in this program will major in Clinical Professions, which provides a solid science foundation for future health‑based careers (FSU Clinical Professions Major in Biomedical Sciences). This faculty member will specialize in Biology and be part of the inaugural faculty team for this new program at FSU Panama City. Contact Info
