Job Description
The Development Coordinator reports to the Sr. Director of Development for the Bellini College and manages all aspects of the college's donor relations programs, including developing and maintaining a streamlined stewardship process, overseeing the Gift Acknowledgement Program, coordinating and executing donor-centered activities and special events (including board meetings), correspondence, and serving as a liaison with academic and administrative departments regarding the college's fundraising efforts. The Development Coordinator also handles sponsorship solicitations and works in partnership with the Bellini College leadership team on the planning and implementation of the department's strategic initiatives and activities.
Opened in 2025 and powered by a University of South Florida record $40 million gift from Arnie and Lauren Bellini, USF's Bellini College of Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Computing is the first in Florida, and among the first in the nation, to unify AI, cybersecurity, and computing within a single college. More than 65 faculty members focus on cutting-edge research and educating 3,000+ bachelor's, master's, and doctoral students across 15 degree programs in computer science, cybersecurity, AI, information technology, and computer engineering. The college emphasizes industry-relevant education and experiential learning to prepare students for real-world challenges. It also serves as the central hub for AI and cybersecurity research and teaching at USF, collaborating with colleges and units across the university.
Hiring Range: $58,850-$65,000
Responsibilities
20% - Develops and maintains a streamlined, professional stewardship process. Develops and maintains donor and executive committee databases. Maintains alumni and partner contact information in the Foundation CRM system. Provides the leadership team with data reports on an as-needed basis. Supports the establishment of a professional reputation for the Bellini College through interactions with corporate and individual donors. Conducts research projects to support Development Office activities. Assists with the preparation of donor stewardship reports. Support the development of timely correspondence for donor stewardship. Regularly reviews operations to identify efficiencies and process improvements. 20% - Serves as a liaison with industry partners, individuals, USF leadership/faculty/staff, and students regarding the Bellini College's philanthropic efforts. Coordinates with the Bellini College's Sr. Director of Development, Director of Operations, and Director of Student Success, and student organizations as needed to support philanthropic partners' goals. Supports calendar management, scheduling, and conference and event management. Assists in the development of gift agreements, MOUs, and engagement plans to support partnership activity. 25% - Organizes, coordinates, and executes donor-centered activities, including sponsorship solicitation. Assists in follow-up calls, visits, and other communication as needed for alumni/donor meetings. Collaborates with Donor Relations on special projects and events to enhance the donor experience. Handles sponsorship solicitations as appropriate to support the college's activities, including student organizations and events. 15% - Manages Fund Administration and Supports Budget Management Process. Collaborating with the Foundation business office to create new funds, supporting the gift agreement process, processing fund transfers, and managing gift deposits. Works with college and Foundation staff on budget development and management. Manages development officer travel and financial transactions. 15% - Oversees the Bellini College Gift Acknowledgement Program. Organizes, coordinates, and executes the daily acknowledgement process to include pledges, pledge payments, outright gifts, stock gifts, and planned gifts. Interacts with Sr. Director of Development, Dean, Associate Dean, Directors, and faculty in determining appropriate methods of interaction with outside constituents. Composes timely correspondence for Bellini College leadership. Reviews gift agreements and coordinates with college leadership and the Foundation business office regarding acknowledgements. 5% - Performs other
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
This position requires a Bachelor's degree with at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
2 years of experience in a university or corporate setting. Executive presence, political awareness and sensitivity, intellectual curiosity, adaptability, experience with meeting coordination, familiarity with fundraising initiatives.
