GENERAL PURPOSE
Under the supervision of the building administrator and librarian, this position assists in implementing the school library's objectives to enable students and faculty to take advantage of the materials and services available.
MAIN JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs duties to ensure that the library remains accessible to students and teachers
Assists the Librarian in overseeing the general neatness and attractiveness of the library and its displays Assists the Librarian with monitoring the library's patrons and maintaining the patron and materials database. Assists the Librarian with various clerical, maintenance, and accounting functions of the school library, including shelving books and media, processing interlibrary loans, ordering, distributing, and returning materials, the annual inventory of library materials, the preparation of reports, processing of new materials and equipment, maintaining current inventory of supplies, and preparing new books for circulation (labels, stamps, covers), and periodical maintenance. Inspects the conditions of circulated items and organizes the repair of damaged materials. Performs circulation desk procedures, including checking in and checking out materials, registering patrons, and collecting fines. Assists patrons with general questions related to library operations and procedures and with locating library resources. Provides assistance in the use of AV equipment and other technology. Provides assistance in the use of computers and library technologies. Train, Supervise and Maintain Makerspace Performs various support activities for the school related to library services, as assigned by the Principal and the Librarian
Trains staff and volunteers on laminator operation and general library tasks. Assists with the training and supervision of volunteers and student aides. Works with individuals and groups in the library to carry out the instructional plans of the Librarian and to assist in implementing library programs. Perform other related duties as required/assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or its equivalent, library experience preferred. One (1) year of work-related experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work environment is primarily inside with moderate noise, temperatures that are controlled, and no exposure to chemicals or other negative air quality elements.
The work is light work, requiring exertion of up to 20 pounds of force to move or lift objects.
