Position Overview
The Senior Procurement Manager will lead strategic sourcing and procurement activities for key commodities and ingredients critical to our food and beverage manufacturing operations. This role requires deep expertise in global commodity markets, supplier relationship management, and cost optimization strategies to ensure a reliable supply chain and competitive pricing.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing & Procurement
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for raw materials, ingredients, and commodities (e.g., grains, sweeteners, oils, dairy, flavors). Monitor global commodity markets, trends, and risk factors to inform purchasing decisions. Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to achieve cost savings and mitigate volatility.
Supplier Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers. Evaluate supplier performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and sustainability standards.
Risk Management & Forecasting
Implement hedging strategies and risk mitigation plans for volatile commodities. Collaborate with Finance and Operations to forecast demand and manage inventory levels.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing teams to align procurement with product development and production needs. Support sustainability initiatives and corporate social responsibility goals.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field; MBA or CPSM preferred. 5+ years of procurement experience, with at least 3 years in commodities or ingredient sourcing within food & beverage manufacturing. Strong knowledge of global commodity markets and risk management strategies. Proven negotiation skills and experience managing multimillion-dollar spend. Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel; experience with procurement analytics tools a plus. Key Competencies Strategic thinker with strong analytical and financial acumen.
