Job Summary:
The Title Insurance - Refinance Team Supervisor oversees daily operations of the refinance team to ensure real estate refinance transactions are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable regulations. This role works closely with borrowers, lenders, and internal staff to deliver timely closings and excellent service. The supervisor also supports staff management, training, and the overall success of the refinance team.
Key Responsibilities: Supervise daily activities of the refinance team to ensure transactions are processed and closed accurately and on schedule. Work closely with borrowers, lenders, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth refinance transactions. Prepare Final Closing Disclosures (CDs), HUD Settlement Statements, and related closing documents; obtain necessary approvals from lenders. Order title search updates and resolve any title issues as needed. Perform closings or forward files with instructions to appropriate closing personnel. Disburse funds for completed transactions and forward files for post-closing processing. Prepare and execute wire transfers from escrow accounts in compliance with company policies. Issue checks for real estate tax payments held in escrow as needed. Serve as a backup to closing agents and assist with training new or current team members. Support staff management activities, including hiring, training, performance reviews, disciplinary matters, and employee motivation. Assign work, delegate responsibilities, and monitor progress to ensure departmental goals and high service standards are met. Build strong working relationships within the team and across departments to support efficient operations. Complete all required compliance and cybersecurity training. Maintain active Title Insurance License, including completing required continuing education (CE) courses. Attend job-specific training as requested by management.
Qualifications: Experience in title insurance, escrow, or refinance closings required. Previous supervisory or team lead experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of refinance transactions, title searches, closings, and disbursements. Current and active Title Insurance License required (or ability to obtain and maintain). Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to motivate, guide, and develop team members in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with title and escrow software systems a plus.
