Salary:
$3342 / Week The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic tests, monitors patient progress, and participates in medical research. Responsibilities include preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, operating high-level imaging equipment, and collaborating with physicians to interpret images for diagnosis. The Technologist may also treat medical conditions with internal radiation doses as prescribed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Receive consultation requests and verify instructions from physicians, consulting with radiologists as needed. Conduct technical procedures, including in vitro studies, and operate radiation detection and measurement tools. Prepare radiopharmaceuticals, calibrate instruments, and review calibration data for malfunctions. Calculate data from patient studies and radioactive decay, evaluate image quality, and process image data. Care for patients during examinations and initiate life support if necessary. Manage inventory and maintain records related to radiopharmaceuticals and radioactive materials. Provide instruction and guidance to students or new staff as needed. Monitor the department for contamination using portable Geiger counters. Perform Nuclear Cardiology studies, including image acquisition and patient monitoring. Prepare and monitor EKGs during cardiac studies. Ensure compliance with applicable health and safety regulations, including ALARA and quality control programs. Attend educational programs to maintain professional skills. Follow all company policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: Certification at Level I & II. Graduate from an AMA-accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program or meet state licensing standards. Level II requires at least two years of experience and prior supervisory or team lead experience. Adhere to professional standards and participate in competency programs. Maintain current CPR certification, health certificates, and meet all regulatory requirements. Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations. Strong communication skills and proficiency in English are required. Computer skills are necessary. Must be at least 18 years old.
